Contract Details: RB Coach Burl Toler

Cal added to their offensive staff with the addition of former WR Burl Toler III as their running backs coach back on January 8th. Through a Freedom of Information Act request, GoldenBearReport.com has received the details of Coach Toler's contract.

Basic Details:

It's a contract that runs from January 8th, the official date of his hiring, to June 30th of 2019.

- The annual base salary for that period is $165,000

- There is a hiring bonus of $25,000. If Toler leaves by his own accord before January 31st of 2019, he must pay that bonus back to the school.

- If Toler is fired without cause before the end of this contract, he'll be owed all of his base salary for the remainder of the year.

- A new clause that hasn't been in previous coaching contracts is if Justin Wilcox were to resign from his post at anytime during the tenure of the contract, the school reserves the right to terminate the contract, in which they'd pay a lump sum equal to a month of the base salary.

Incentives:

Similar to the other coaches on staff, Toler has incentives for Cal reaching Bowl and Championship games, granted that the team's four-year APR is 930 or greater (last year, that number was 978). The bonuses are as follows

- $15,000 if the team participates in the Pac-12 Championship Game

- $25,000 if the team participates in the Rose, Fiesta, Sugar, Orange, Cotton, or Peach Bowl

- $10,000 if the team participates in the National Championship Game

- $10,000 if the team finishes the regular season with a winning percentage better than 50% and participates in a bowl game other than the ones listed above

- Up to $5,000 if the team finishes the regular season with a winning percentage less than 50% and participates in a bowl game other than those named above
