Montgomery says freshman star should be ready to go
BERKELEY -- True freshman wing
Allen Crabbe did not practice for the Cal basketball team today, according to head coach
Mike Montgomery, due to a mild concussion suffered against
Washington when his head hit the knee of an opposing player.
"Heads don't generally win that battle," Montgomery said. "Allen did not practice today. He's better on (the daily concussion tests), but he didn't have a good day today."
Montgomery said that he hopes Crabbe will be a full-go on Thursday when the Bears (13-12, 6-7 in the Pac-10) face
USC (13-12, 5-7) at 7:30 PM at Haas Pavilion.
"He'd better be ready to go," Montgomery said. "He just didn't practice today because he had a bit of a set-back. He was feeling good yesterday and didn't feel so good today."
Montgomery said that the team will wait and see how the situation progresses throughout the rest of the week.
"It was a mild concussion, so I don't know how long those last," Montgomery said.
