At 6-11, the latest Will Middlebrooks product is a stretch 4-man with shades of Dirk Nowitski. He's got the European-step down pat, is well schooled in the fundamentals, and has range for days. But since coming to the states, Siewert has also learned to play above the rim.
"He athletic, can really shoot it, and has learned how to get to the rack and finish," Middlebrooks told Rivals.com. "We played last night and he showed-out well: hit a couple pro threes and rebounded well."
Though only in his second year at Cathedral, Siewert has benefitted from the flow of college programs that enter Middlebrooks' gym on a regular basis.
"Pretty much everyone who's come through here has been impressed with him," says Middlebrooks, who, along with Etop Udo-Ema, leads the No. 2 AAU program in the country, Compton Magic, that has produced Jahii Carson, Allen Crabbe, and Jerryd Bayless, among others.
There have been other opportunities for the 2016 prospect to showcase his talent, too.
He started every game while a freshman at Adidas Nations, and was named a top-25 player at the Pangos frosh-soph All-American Camp over the summer.
There's still room to grow, acknowledges Middlebrooks, but the ceiling is definitely high for the young big.
"He has a good chance to be an NBA player," says Middlebrooks. "He's just got to keep working."
