Christian Okafor was running late for his flight, was just barely on board his plane at Oakland International Airport, but he made good on his promise and made time just before the flight attendant told him to holster his phone to give BearTerritory a call and say just a few words: "I already made my decision. I'm committed to California. You can put it on Rivals."
The 6-foot-6, 300-pound offensive tackle and former Texas Tech commit said in a pre-official visit interview that, after his official visit to Stanford several weeks earlier, he wasn't too enamored with the Cardinal, and now, he'll get to take that attitude and let it loose on the field.
"To tell you the truth, I'll probably commit to Cal this weekend," he said during that interview.
On Sunday, he made good on that pledge.
"It was everything," Okafor said about his reasons for pulling the trigger. "I'm talking about the campus, the coaches, I felt really comfortable. I like coach [Jeff] Tedford a lot."
Okafor will be speaking at more length once he lands tonight in Texas, so stay tuned!
Stay tuned throughout the day for more stories coming out of the big official visit weekend.
