Friday Night Lights: Ott Continues 100+ Yard Streak

Not every Cal commit has gotten into the swing of the season, as Jaiven Plummer, Nick Morrow and Jackson Brown all have not started their seasons yet, but ten of Cal's 13 commits have.

Playing in foggy conditions at Ventura College against an opponent that was changed earlier in the week, Martin and Inglewood took down Rio Mesa 29-12. Martin and the Sentinels are scheduled to take on Compton next Friday.

Ott had another 100+ yard performance for Norco, 16 carries for 113 yards and 2 TDs in a 40-22 win over Santa Margarita. Ott will look to continue his burgeoning 100-yard streak Friday against Rancho Cucamonga.

Johnson and Hamilton had to cancel a planned contest with Edgewood due to a COVID-19 quarantine. They also had to cancel their September 3rd game against Princeton as well, with the next contest scheduled for September 10th.

Vatikani and Bishop Manogue did not play this week, with a planned contest against Bishop Gorman not happening due to smoke from Northern California wildfires. Vatikani will hopefully be back in action along with Manogue Friday night against Reed HS.

Williams and Alemany fell to Burrell and St. John Bosco in a 24-3 effort. For Alemany, Williams had a strong game, with six tackles, two tackles for loss, and a sack.

St. John Bosco did not post defensive stats, but Burrell was involved in a defensive effort that held Alemany to only three points.

Alemany has a bye prior to taking on Oaks Christian on September 10th, while Bosco has a home game against Bishop Amat on September 3rd

Moi and Cathedral Catholic fell to Corona Centennial 57-14. Cathedral Catholic will play in the Honor Bowl Friday against Chaminade.

Thomas and Nolan Catholic fell to Argyle in the Tom Landry Classic, 45-29. They'll get a game against Catholic of Little Rock (alma mater of Luc Bequette) on September 4th.

Tuitele and Regis Jesuit fell to Valor Christian in a 24-6 final. Regis Jesuit will take on Highlands Ranch on Saturday, September 4th.

Sidney and Mater Dei asserted west coast dominance over Texas powerhouse Duncanville in a 45-3 victory in Texas. The Monarchs will get a week off prior to a matchup with Liberty (NV.)
