The lack of points from the bigs is obviously an area of concern. I wonder if a contributing factor is our prolific backcourt? They are shooting at such a high percentage there does not seem to be a need to involve the front court. There will be games where the outside shot is not falling and we will need scoring from the bigs. On the few ocassions that Cobbs has penetrated and drawn the defense he has been able to dump off for easy dunks.. Maybe we should see more of that. Cobbs is really good at it. Solomon seems to be out of it when he is not part of the offense. I'm sure Monty will look for ways to get the bigs more involved.. Teams will try to take away the outside shot and force Cal to go inside. I'm not sure we are ready for that.

You're spot on, johnsonbob. Cal has, at times, tried to get the bigs into a rhythm, but because of Rob Thurman's limitations, Kravish's banged up hand (can't quite snare the ball like he can when healthy) and Solomon's tentativeness in the low block, they just haven't been productive enough, and the guards have gotten frustrated with the fact that the big guys aren't finishing plays. When that happens, Monty shifts on the fly and returns to a more guard-oriented attack, because, as you said, they're getting the job done. Solomon seems like he's always worried about getting called for a foul, and in that, he's lost awareness of the fact that he's 6-10, 240, and can impose his will when he wants to. He and Crabbe, IMO, need to make the same leap -- find a killer instinct.

Thanks. I did not know Kravish had an injured hand. I noticed that he finished that alley oop play with one hand instead of jamming it with two hands. Hope this injury heals soon. Solomon is really an enigma. He should be manhandling defenders inside. I can eventually see more use of a small lineup of Cobbs, Crabbe, Wallace and Krecklow. These guys are probably tall and athletic enough to rebound and they can run the floor. If Johnson was ready you might see 5 small man lineup.

front court got it done against a big GT team. Solo, Kravish and Thurman out played GT's bigs.

Any update on Krecklow's condition? I didn't notice if he was sitting on the bench.
