Williams signs his LOI

Over the last four seasons, the Bears have made a strong effort to recruit the state of Texas. That hard work is really starting to pay off in a big way for the Cal program. The Bears landed arguably their most talented recruit from the Lone Star State today, when Dallas (Tex.) cornerback Steve Williams made his commitment official by inking with Cal. Williams is a 4-star standout who is considered to be one of the top prospects at the cornerback position this season.
So how exactly did a player from the football hotbed of Texas become so interested in Cal?

"I really don't know," Williams told Rivals.com recruiting analyst Barton Simmons. "The first thing as a kid, just looking at the colors, I liked how their uniforms looked. Then they have that cornerback for the Raiders (Nnamdi Asomugha) and they had Delta O'Neal. They had a nice program."
BearTerritory.net will have much more on the Williams' signing in the coming hours.
