Highlands Ranch (Colo.) Valor Christian running back Gabe Sawchuk has been a well-known recruit among college programs. He's the younger brother of Oklahoma running back and former four-star prospect Gavin Sawchuk, and has been able to make a name for himself since early in his high school career.

The 5-foot-10 recruit rushed for over 700 yards for the second straight season in 2022 plus he tacked on seven rushing touchdowns to take his career total to 21. It has helped him continue to see new interest come in, and the spring could bring more offers and schools into the mix once coaches hit the road again.

For now, the three-star recruit is wasting no time with the February dead period coming to close as he will take a visit to Cal this weekend to learn more about the Bears. Aristotle Thompson has already been in communication with Sawchuk leading to his decision to make the trip out to Berkeley for the team's junior day recruiting event this Saturday.

The relationship is still in the early stages, so there will be plenty for him to take in while on campus in the Bay Area this week.

"Kind of the same thing I expect to see anytime I ever go to a new school, just to see the program, meet coaches, new coaches with the coaching changes and see how they want to be as a team," he said. "How they want to act, how they run things. See that type of stuff.
