Fanua is the latest

It's always important for any team to lock up their backyard and Cal was able to secure one of the Bay Area's best today when Milpitas (Calif.) linebacker Steven Fanua made it official. Fanua is a very talented 'backer who can become a very productive edge defender in the coming years and an athlete who fits very well in the Bears' 3-4 defensive scheme.

"I had a feeling inside knowing Cal was the right place for me," Fanua said. "It just felt right. Family had a lot of influence on my decision. I want my family to be a part of my collegiate career. That whole environment of having family around triggered a lot of feelings."
