Talk about a Christmas present.

Redshirt sophomore WR Stephen Anderson was put on scholarship yesterday, Christmas Day, two years after walking-on the Cal football program.
Anderson caught 83 passes for 1,340 yards and 14 TDs as a senior at Piedmont Hills and -- after redshirting as a true freshman and seeing limited action as a redshirt frosh -- had 14 catches for 125 yards this season for Cal largely as an inside WR.
"This moment is what I've been working for ever since I got to Cal. All the blood sweat and tears was for that moment. To make my mom happy," Anderson said. "It doesn't happen too often that a walk-on with no offers coming out of high school gets to earn a full scholarship and start for the school he's always wanted to go to. I am truly blessed."
Anderson started six games for Cal this season -- including the final three of the year -- largely splitting time with Richard Rodgers, who is considering declaring for the NFL draft.
Anderson recorded double-digit receiving yards in five of the 10 games he participated in this season.
