Cal picks up first commitment of 2015: 3-star WR Austin Aaron

Breaking the seal on Cal's 2015 recruiting class, 3-star Napa High wide receiver Austin Aaron became the first commit for the Golden Bears this cycle on Saturday night with a telephone call to head coach Sonny Dykes and outside wide receivers coach/assistant head coach Rob Likens following his second unofficial visit in as many week.

The junior wideout had been on Likens' radar since early 2013, and in 2014 the pair exchanged visits -- Likens to Napa High in late January, and Aaron to Cal on three separate occasions: following the NorCal Rivals Camp, at the start of Cal's Spring camp, and then Saturday morning.
The 62nd ranked player overall in the absolutely loaded state of California, Aaron turned in a Wide Receiver MVP performance at the NorCal Rivals camp, which spurred his Cal offer. Aaron has 10 offers in all from the likes of Brown, Duke, Harvard, Nevada, Penn, SJSU, Yale, and Utah. He also has serious interest from UCLA, USC, Washington, Florida, and Stanford, which courted a visit out of Aaron last week -- the 3.8 GPA student skipped Cal's Junior Day to see Stanford's Spring Game.
At 6'5", 202 pounds and with a legitimate 4.6 40-yard-dash, Aaron has a unique combination of speed to run deep routes and the size to regularly win jump balls.
