BERKELEY -- The Big Game won't just be about California football this year.
The Bears basketball programs -- both men's and women's -- will make their mark on the annual tradition with an exhibition of their own, setting up a basketball hoop and a half court on Lisa and Douglas Goldman Plaza at the northwest end of California Memorial Stadium on Saturday, and will put their talents on display one hour before the noon kickoff.
Mike Montgomery and Lindsay Gottlieb's squads will put on a show for fans with a little joint jam session before the 115th edition of the gridiron rivalry, and five-star official visitor Marcus Lee will be on-hand to take in the festivities.
The two squads will take part in a shoot-around and half-court shooting contest among other drills. The voice of Cal men's basketball Roxy Bernstein will be on hand to introduce each squad, and both teams will be giving away autographed merchandise and interacting with fans throughout their exhibition. Attendees will have the opportunity to win tickets to the first men's and first women's basketball home game of the season at Haas Pavilion. Fans will also be eligible to take a half-court shot to win Stadium Club seats for Cal's football game against Washington on Nov. 2. The event will run until approximately 11:45 a.m. to allow fans enough time to get inside Memorial Stadium.
While the men are coming out fresh off commitments from five-star guard Jabari Bird, four-star wing Jordan Mathews and three-star point guard Sam Singer, Gottlieb and her program are in the midst of their own big recruiting news, as well.
Five-star Manteca forward Courtney Range just announced that she'll join the Bears next season, along with another recent pledge in 6-foot-2 Kendall Waters.

Range is ranked as the No. 2 prospect in the 2013 class, and committed to Cal on Oct. 2 after also considering Oregon State.
Lee is coming off a Midnight Madness official visit to Kentucky, and his trip to Berkeley will be his final official visit before deciding where to spend his college career.
