All Goode

Days after taking his final official visit to Berkeley, outside linebacker Cameron Goode out of Klein Collins High in Spring, Texas, announced via Twitter that he was honoring the verbal commitment he made over the summer and would sign with Cal.

The news is welcome for the Bears, as Goode was the lone 2016 commit at the linebacker spot. Retaining his commitment allows Cal to ideally sign one more this cycle. Goode, at 6'3" and 200 pounds, is being brought in for the Will spot. He was an all-District defender for Klein Collins this past season, and possesses the length, speed, and frame that makes him a promising prospect.

In his own words: "I'm a sideline to sideline player. I can blitz or drop back."

In the end, Cal beat out Nebraska and Vanderbilt for Goode's commitment. He visited the Cornhuskers in December and the Commodores the weekend prior to his Cal trip. Goode held eight schaolrship offers in total, but was receiving additional late interest from Arizona State, Illinois, Hawaii, and East Carolina.
