2018 ATH Omari Harris Commits to Cal

The Bears are striking early with their 2018 class as rumors flow about the future of the coaching staff, getting their second commit of that cycle early in 2018 ATH Omari Harris from nearby Antioch. Harris joins Adrian Martinez as the second recruit in the class.

Harris, along with the majority of his Antioch High football team, visited Cal last Saturday during their victory over UCLA. He helps to fill a gap at the linebacker spot that will be apparent in the 2018 class, with Ray Davison, Devante Downs, and Hamilton Anoa'i leaving after the 2017 season. At this rate, Harris would have the opportunity to get some early playing time in their wake.

Currently, Harris is a rangy athlete with good ball skills, good hit power, and most importantly, he's a local recruit, something that Cal fans always clamor for. Harris is currently rated as a three-star running back by Rivals, and the 43rd ranked player in the state of California for the class of 2018.
