SAN FRANCISCO -- In the first podcast of the Sonny Dykes era, the crew breaks down everything about the newest California head football coach.

Joining us as always is CBS Sports Pac-12 blogger John Breech, the owner of The Republic -- Shaw Amirghassemkhany -- and of course, our statistical analyst, Ken Clampett. We all give our first impressions of the Bears' new skipper from his introductory press conference, and what his hire means to the Cal football program.

The theme of the day was decidedly the concept of fitting -- fitting the offense to the players, the players to the offense and the recruits to the program - and we go in-depth with that concept throughout the podcast, from current players to recruits to staffing decisions, which Dykes said would start coming down within the next four or five days.

Over the next two weeks, Dykes will begin to assemble his staff from the current assistants and some new names he'll likely bring in from Louisiana Tech and elsewhere. We debate which current coaches should -- and could -- be retained, and who the possibilities are to fill the vacancies or replace current staff members. Should Ron Gould continue his 16-year tenure? Will Todd Howard return? Will Ashley Ambrose be retained? We ask all that and more.

We talk about Dykes's offensive scheme and how the current talent on the roster will fit into it, and how Dykes will adjust his philosophy to accommodate the skill sets of the tight ends, quarterbacks and more.

Finally, we get into recruiting. How does this hire -- and the subsequent assistant search -- affect the current commits, and those players still up for grabs?

Below, find links to all of our premium coverage and analysis on the hire and the ripples that are spreading throughout the program and recruiting. Check back throughout the day for more on the hire.
