VIDEO: First Look at Cal Freshmen
The California baseball team added to its impressive 2013 haul today when San Jose (Calif.) Willow Glenn catcher John Riley called pitching coach Mike Neu and pledged his services to the Bears.
Riley is a big, 6-foot, 205-pound backstop in the mold of 2012 13th-round draft pick Chadd Krist, and projects as a middle-of-the-order right-handed power bat. Riley was at the top of Cal's board for the 2013 class, and has a strong arm as a former third baseman and pitcher. Perfect Game USA ranks Riley as the No. 15 player in the stat of California, and one of the top 100 players in the country.
Stay tuned for more on this big commitment for David Esquer and the Bears.
