Cal's 2014 presesaon camp comes to a close



Still receiving from an ACL surgery a year ago, former 4-star defensive back Darius Allensworth finished up his first pre-season camp on Saturday -- along with the rest of the Cal football team in a short pad-less practice -- living up to that 4-star billing and then some: The redshirt freshman will head into the season as the team's No. 1 cornerback and nickelback.

"That was one of my goals back in high school, to be a starting corner for a Division I program," he told GoldenBearReport post-practice. "I started running with the 1s at the end of Spring, and that's continued throughout."

And deservedly so. Allensworth may very well be the Bears best cover corner -- he's long, has great instincts, and at 190lbs is the Bears biggest at the position.
