Four-star RB to make a second visit

One of Ohio State's top targets at the running back position is St. Louis (Mo.) John Burroughs product Ezekiel Elliott. The 6-foot, 200-pound prospect made an unofficial visit to Ohio State over the winter for a junior day and now the four-star prospect says he will be making a return trip to Columbus in the very near future.
"I'm visiting Ohio State on the 30th (of March)," said Elliott. "We just want to get another look at Ohio State. I just want to see more of the school and learn more about the academics and some of the other things that we didn't really get to learn about the first time we were there."
Elliott added that another reason for the return trip is to continue to build on the strong relationship that has been developing between the athletic runner and the Ohio State coaching staff.
"Ohio State's staff is one of my favorite staffs in the nation," he explained. "We've been forming a great relationship between me and coach Urban Meyer, coach Stan Drayton the running backs coach and also now with the newly added coach (Kerry) Coombs."
Coombs hasn't been on the job for very long but with St. Louis falling into his recruiting territory, Elliott has become one of his top priorities.
"I've been talking to him a little bit on facebook and I've called him twice," Elliott said. "I like him a lot and I think he'll be a good fit for the Ohio State staff."
Before Elliott returns to Columbus, he'll be making a visit to another Midwest power, before turning his focus to his track season.
"I'm heading to Notre Dame this weekend and then after Ohio State I think I'm going to be taking a break (from making visits)," he said.
Elliott has become pretty familiar with the Notre Dame program over the last several months and is looking forward to getting a more in-depth look at the campus this time around.
"I was at Notre Dame before for the Air Force game," he said. "I'm just going to get to see more of the school and getting a better feel for the staff and getting to see more than the first time we were there."
As for a list of top schools, right now Elliott says he is open to all schools recruiting him.
"Right now we're just trying to take as many visits as possible," he said. "Right now we're not cutting anyone down, we want to give everyone a look."
With that being said, the speedy back says Ohio State sits in a strong position at this point in time.
"It's up there with the best," he said. "I think I would be a great fit for their offense."
