Hokies a player for NC tailback

Little has been heard from one of the top tailbacks in North Carolina. Virginia Tech is one of eight schools to have already extended an offer for the 6-foot-1, 200-pounder, but is he heading out anywhere to date?

"I have eight offers now with East Carolina and Duke, they offered right after football ended," he said. "I haven't really taken any visits though. I don't know about it, I'll probably take some."

In the meantime, Grayson is receiving looks from North Carolina amongst other schools.

Just as he hasn't taken visits, Grayson notes no leaders either.

"I don't really have a favorite right now," he said. "I'm just trying to find a program that suits me. I want somewhere I can actually be at home around the coaches."

Virginia Tech is one of the offers to date and the tailback maintains they are in the mix.

"I like what Virginia Tech does," he said. "They run the ball and that's what I want to do. I haven't really talked to their coaches in awhile and I don't know about a visit. Right now I'm looking at all my options."

For the season, Grayson earned all-county and all-conference honors as a junior.

"I think I did pretty well from my standpoint," he said. "We lost a tough one-point game in the first round of the playoffs.

"But, I think I did well. I'm working a lot harder than I've ever worked before. I'm taking it really seriously, it's like a business and I'm doing everything I can to get better. I'm working on getting faster with track and that's helping with my conditioning."
