Lewinson key for Bailey
Seffner (Fla.) Armwood was good to Wake Forest on National Signing Day when Shelldon Lewinson inked with the Demon Deacons. Will Alvin Bailey be the next Armwood player to join the Deacs when National Signing Day roles around Wednesday, Feb. 06, 2013?
"Every time we see each other in the hallway or locker room he always throws up Wake Forest high and goes, 'Demon Deacons,' and keeps walking," Bailey said. "I think when he gets up there he's going to try to recruit me a little bit more, but I'm just keeping my options open right now."
Bailey said he may make a trip to Winston-Salem, but has been out of contact with Wake's coaches.
Along with Lewinson, Bailey played an integral role in guiding Armwood to a state championship crown and 15-0 record.
The multi-positional Bailey also lined up at quarterback and running back, accumulating over 2,000 all-purpose yards.
"In college I see myself playing quarterback," Bailey said. "Everybody is recruiting me as a receiver."
He attended the Under Armor Combine last month in Kissimmee, FL.
Rivals.com rates the 5-foot-11, 170-pound wide receiver as a four-star recruit and as the nation's No. 138 overall prospect.
He is also interested in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, South Carolina, South Florida and Vanderbilt.
Bailey attended USF's Junior Day Feb. 11 and planned to visit Florida next, but was unable to make the trip to Gainesville.
The Armwood athlete was impressed with how Tampa products, Ryan Giddens, Andre Davis and Terence Mitchell's decision to stay close to home has played out well.
Bailey claims over dozen offers.
