Neuheisel's scimmage thoughts

UCLA head coach Rick Neuheisel met with the media after yesterday's scrimmage to his thoughts on the process. He was very pleased with his defense and noted that the Bruin offensive line needs to improve if UCLA is going to be a better football team. The scrimmage was marred by Logan Paulsen's injury.

What are your thoughts on the scrimmage?

Neuheisel: "I hope that Logan (Paulsen) is okay. It is scary."

Is it the same foot?

Neuheisel: "I don't know. I am assuming that it is, but I don't know. He's going to have x-rays so hopefully we will get good news, but other than that I thought it was really good."

"The defense controlled the line of scrimmage, which is why they controlled the scrimmage most of the day. Offensively, we have to get better at the line of scrimmage if we are going to be a better football team.

"I thought some bright spots from my vantage point were Johnathan Franklin. I thought he did a nice job and at times Nelson Rosario has proved that he can make plays and so forth."

"We're going to develop this thing and it is great that guys are getting chances and so forth. We will get to the end of spring, we will make some decisions and in the fall we will kind of know who we are going with."
