Holt and Bishop lead Cal scrimmage

Knowing that you are not going to receive any significant reps with the first or second team all season can be a little discouraging, but there are advantages to being on the scout team. No one knows this better than the Cal's freshman-junior linebacking duo of D.J. Holt and Devin Bishop. From constantly studying the Bears' own defensive playbook to coming into every week playing the role of the opponent, Holt and Bishop have taken their scout team status to heart.

When Justin Forsett, DeSean Jackson and Nate Longshore line up across from you everyday in practice, it's pretty safe to say that you are not going to be tackling anybody anytime soon - not with the risk of injury running high every time the pads go on.
