New Buckeye head football coach Urban Meyer's frustration at the lack of perceived playmakers at wide receiver has been well documented. In an attempt to rectify that situation for 2013 and beyond, Meyer and his staff hosted a number of the nation's elite at the wide receiver position over the last few days. Robert Foster of Pennsylvania, Laquon Treadwell of Illinois and teammates Shelton Gibson and De'Niro Laster of Cleveland Heights have all made their way to Columbus to see how the revamped Buckeye offensive trust would utilize their skills.

Another wide receiver currently on the Buckeyes wish list is Devon Allen from Brophy Prep High School in Phoenix, and he's got the Buckeyes on this list as well. Allen, a 6-foot-1, 190 pounder currently holds 20 scholarship offers, and has already made unofficial visits to USC, Arizona State, Washington and Stanford, but he plans on making a visit to Columbus this summer, although those plans are not yet concrete.

"Not yet my dad just got a new job so I can't make it this spring," Allen said. "Most likely over summer."

That potential visit for Allen would be more than just a business trip, however, since all of his dad's family is from Columbus.

"(I) grew up a Buckeye fan," he continued "And my dad is an alumni and Buckeye fan. It is the tradition and the football team is always competitive."

Does that mean the Buckeyes are the favorite for his commitment? Not necessarily. Allen contends he has no list of leaders at the moment, but he does an idea of when he'd like to have his recruitment wrapped up.

"I haven't really thought about it yet," Allen said when asked who would be on his list of leaders. "But, I'd like to make a decision by the end of the summer."

For any school to move to the top of this talented speedster's list, they will need to be flexible about one thing: Devon wants to run track in college.

"I'm really looking for a school that will let me do Football and track," Allen continued. "I'm also looking for a school that I will want to live (at) for four years."

Currently holding a 3.4 GPA at Brophy, one of Arizona's most challenging preparatory schools, Ohio State would like to see Devon Allen living large in their offense the next four years, using his speed to stretch opposing defenses.
