Bears wrap up spring camp

BERKELEY-With the completion of Thursday's light, helmets-only, hour-long practice at Memorial Stadium, the Cal football team's spring schedule came to a quiet close. Quiet, that is, until Bryan Anger stepped up to the north 40-yard line for this spring's first punting iteration of the box drill.

Earlier in practice, Anger had bombed a punt into the coffin corner on the right side, where the ball took one sideways bounce, one yard from the right sideline, and settled at the one-yard line, two yards in. The end-of-practice kicking drills, usually reserved for the placekickers, were more of the same.
