November 12, 2009 After hearing grumblings for weeks that a deal could get done here, BearTerritory senior writer A.W. Prince has confirmed that Cal and Nevada have signed an agreement to play next season in Reno. The contest will take place Sept. 18 on the Nevada campus. In turn, the Wolfpack -- who are in the midst of a very good season up there -- will come to Berkeley twice in future years. The agreement finalizes Cal's 2010 schedule. The Sept. 18 slot has been open for some time and it was speculated that Cal might've inked a deal with UC Davis. However, that proved to not be true and instead the Bears will take the bus ride north to Reno to wrap up their non-conference schedule. The Wolfpack, led by Hall of Fame head coach Chris Ault, is in the midst of a possible banner year this season. After starting off the season very slow with three consecutive losses, Nevada (6-3, 6-0 in the WAC) has been on fire, winners of six in a row and on pace for a season-ending showdown with Boise State in Idaho if they can top Fresno State and New Mexico State the next two weeks. If Nevada does roll into Boise undefeated, that contest will be for the WAC title and will also obviously be watched by fans all across the country, as the game will have significant BCS implications.
