The Cal men's basketball team opens up the regular season 7:30 p.m. Thursday evening in an exhibition contest against Chico State at Haas Pavilion. This will be the first chance for Cal fans to catch a glimpse of this year's squad and develop some observations about what the Bears might be capable of on the court this coming year. Of course, two guys that many fans will be watching intently is Max Zhang and Jorge Gutierrez, two players who will play key roles off the bench for Cal.
