Flash back roughly eight months ago. Chris Conte is sitting in his home in Los Angeles, with two letters-of-intent on his table. One letter is from Cal and the other letter is from UCLA. Having strong feelings and admiration for both schools, the athlete is torn as to where he should suit up for the next four years. In the end, as Bear Territory chronicled, the Rivals.com four-star cornerback couldn't commit to both schools, he had to make a decision.
Saturday afternoon, Conte comes face-to-face for the first time with the team that he de-committed from.
Going into Fall Camp in August, Bears coach Jeff Tedford noted that there would be only one or two true freshmen that would likely see the field during the 2007 season. Running back Jahvid Best was an obvious choice and defensive end Cameron Jordan's athleticism was hard to keep off the field.
