Riding the excitement of Cal's earliest spring practice in years, Sonny Dykes set about securing local talent, on Monday.

He didn't even have to leave the city limits to do it.

Michael Lazarus - a 6-2, 215-pound linebacker from Berkeley High - made the trip up Bancroft to watch practice and, as it turns out, pick-up his first offer.

"It was great," he told GoldenBearReport following Monday's events. "Practice was exciting: really fast."
